HOW ARE SOME PLANS A $0 MONTHLY PREMIUM

Medicare Advantage plans are approved plans from The Center of Medicare Services (CMS). These plans come from private companies such has Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, and more. Many plans are $0 monthly premium because you must keep paying for your Medicare Part B premium of $174.70 for 2024.

MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT / MEDIGAP

THE
COST

Supplemental plans vary with a person's age, health, and state tremendously. The average monthly premium cost starts around $70 up to $270 when older. Once a year, the cost of your supplement will increase around $10 to $50. This is very normal and inevitable.

THE
PROS

The biggest pro for a Medigap plan is gaining peace of mind with your coverage. Some plans may have yearly deductibles but after that cost, policy holders know with confidence their Medigap plan will cover the cost of any medical bills they have.

WHO
QUALIFIES?

The best time to get a Medigap plan is within your 6 month "open enrollment period" that everyone gets the month of their 65th birthday. If your outside your "open enrollment period" then it may be much hard to qualify for a plan due to your age and health.

THE
CONS

Some of the biggest cons to gaining a Medigap plan is the monthly premium cost. Many elders cannot afford the costly bill every month. Another downside is there are no dental, vision, hearing, or prescription coverage included in a Medigap plan. This means if you want coverage in those areas, you would have to pay an additional monthly premium.

HOW TO GET THIS PLAN

Give us a call today to take the first step towards gaining a Medigap plan. It's free to use our services.

PRESCRIPTION COVERAGE

As mentioned above, prescription coverage is not included with a Medigap plan. CMS requires everyone on Medicare to have creditable prescription coverage or else one will be a penalty based on the length of time without creditable coverage. Prescription Drug Plans range is $10 to $50 monthly premium depending on your location and types of prescriptions.
